You Are Not Too Young (or Too Old) to Heal

You Are Not Too Young (or Too Old) to Heal

Some people say, "You were too small to remember, so it shouldn't affect you." Others say, "That was years ago. Why are you still hurting?"

Both are wrong.

A child doesn't need to understand a separation to feel it. The tension, the silence, the sudden change in routine: children absorb all of it. And when no one talks about it, the feelings don't disappear. They go underground. They show up later as trouble trusting people, fear of conflict, or working so hard to keep the peace that you forget your own needs.

If you're a child or teenager reading this, your feelings are real, even if you can't explain them yet.

If you're an adult who grew up in a broken home, it is not too late. Healing doesn't have an age limit. It can begin with a conversation, a journal, a counsellor, or simply admitting, "That hurt me, and it matters."

You were never too young to be hurt. You are never too old to heal. 💛
